Microphone troubles

well i got my computer running and I installed the new sound drivers on it cuz I got a new sound card but the microphone doesn't seem to be working at all. The microphone is not muted, it is plugged into the right spot and the system recognizes that i have an audio device. Do I need specific drivers installed for the certain microphone I have? SOMEONE HELP!

Try the force driver it may help ;)          
 
 Dunno what kind of sound card,drivers,mic,connection etc???

sound card is creative's sound blaster audigy2 24bit.
I have no idea what kinda of mic it is, which ever one comes with a stock dell dimension.
All drivers needed for the sound card came with the soundcard.
The mic jacks straight into the back of the sound card.

If you you still have the driver for your old sound card it could be the cause.

audigy 2 does have like 3 places that control the mic lol so look in the hq and surround mixer and the vloume control make sure it is up loud enough.

well i located my old sound card driver called "soundMAX" and i deleted that shit but didn't fix anything. I'm gonna try to reinstall these new drivers cuz I might have done the custom installation instead of the FULL installation.

Wow after 2 days of seeing why my mic wasnt working i finally figured it out. For some reason my current microphone didn't work with my soundcard so I just swapped them out and it's fixed! thanks to all that tried to help. C ya on vent again hoes!
