BF2 is a worm and does a complete scan of you HD when you start. I had Clone CD 3 installed on my computer. For those of you that didn't know, Clone CD will make an exact copy of a CD, right down to the disk label and disk serial number. When I started BF2 I got this message "CD/DVD emulation software detected on your computer. Disable the emulation software the restart BF2". I unintalled Clone CD and rebooted. BF@ started without any hitches.

You could have just ended the process...bf2 just scans your currently running processes...fo r it to scan your hard drive it would take like 40 minutes every time you started your computer.

I cant remove bf2 either it is a viris of the most foul anus odor, I should have known when battlefield vietnam gave me motion sickness bf2 wasnt going to be any better:(
