Laptop
« on: October 26, 2008, 08:18:53 PM »

I was wondering if you guys could help me. I am thinking of getting a laptop. No Vista or Mac.

I am hoping for something that would give me speed and the ability to use my computer for   gaming use and media?   ::) The best I could type it out.
Price range is $1000 or under.

I dunno I hate playing computer games on laptops for some reason. I just can't get absorbed into the game. The keyboards are way too near the screen so your constantly seeing your fingers move around and the screens too close to your eyes. Everythings dead flimsy and keyboards never seem nearly as easy to use. In comparrison its like sitting in the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon to playing games on your mobile phone.

I would look at the Dell studio series.  You should be able to get one around 800.00. The only problem is that it will have Vista.  I guess if you are really against it, remove it and put XP on it!

Yes, but I would choose a bigger and a faster hardrive + a better graphic card. You wont come very far with 128MB on your graphic card :)

As I said earlier, Get Acer Aspire 5930G!

I won't be playing alot of games on it so what is the big difference if I get the standard Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
Than the Nvedia geforce vid card.
Performance wise???

I just bought  this one

http://explore.toshiba.com/laptops/qosmio/X305/X305-Q701

for 1200.

I will update here on how it runs, it's supposed to be a really solid gaming laptop.
