Do you mean the NCAA ACC?  Or something else?  If it's NCAA, then yes, it's illegal.  Using anything that is copyrighted to make a profit is against the copyright law.

Ill give a example:  Shes cutting out 4 ft by 4 ft of this stirofoam, and then paints mascots from all the collage basketball teams, and then sells em for 20-40 dollars profit.  might have a 1-2 day grounding if i can get by my parents when they get home.

Ehhh...that's still a stretch, but I think you'll get by fine with copyright since you're producing the materials.  Good thing the teams don't have their own trademarks, or you'd be screwed big time.

Maybe you've heard of this team, the Cal Poly Mustangs from my area, well a student was sued for making shirts with the Mustang logo from the school and putting them on sweatshirts and turning a profit for them. It took them 2 years to realize they were sold by him and not the student store, but i'm just warning you, some people get caught and others don't. It's risky buissness though...
