Hey all lazzie needs help. I have a dvd burner and a harddrive using up the 2 ide cable connectors that came with the mobo. Can i buy this adapter to add an ata 100 harddrive, and will it work ;) And if not does anyone know of any PCI ata 100 cards, thanks.

You can get a eide exspansion card, but remember bios will only support 2 channels, eg... primary, master-slave  secondary, master-slave.

If you have all 4 slots or both channels full then there is nothing you can do except maybe get a eide to usb adapter.

Or just get a sata motherboard. and converters to use you're old eide drives.

Well i have a sata mobo but my dumbass bought an ata100 160gb hd...the mobo only came with 1 fucking 39 pin ide slot ( my old mobo had 2 ), its to late for me to buy a sata hd since i already payed for the ata100 hd :( FUCK. So bonie will this shit do? Can i run one hd from the actual ide slot from the mobo and one ata 100 off of thishttp://www.xpcgear.com/hiro2atideco.html

A single eide channel can support 2 devices with a 3 connector cable ;)

Got another problem. Im basically all set with my new comp just waiting on windows xp to get here but, my dvd drive doesnt work it shows the green light on but it doesnt open. Ive tried it on slave, master, Cs and still nothing. My question is do i wait till windows xp gets here, insert the disc in my drive from my old comp then try it on mine again? I'm fucking out of ideas.

Well it works with my old comp also the mobo doesnt pick up my video card either so i can see shit on the monitor...I think its just the entire mobo that is fucked up, so i bought another one..

Hey since when is newegg ebay lool. Hopefully this new mobo will work im guessing the ide connector was fucked up or something, because my drive and card work.
