Time to buy a council game.

It's time to get a council game for home.  Would like to get input on the positives and negatives of the Game Box, Hand controllers, and games available.  Current Features and future plans will also help.

To clarify the use, I will be playing football and Baseball with my Sunday Football buds.  My wife and kid will probley lean to the Wii for interactive gaming. (only my wife leans on my wee wee)  All my hardcore FPS will be on my PC but I may play a little FPS on the council.

Console?  If you play games with people in person, get a Wii or 360.  Wii = kids, people who don't usually play games.  360 = for more hardcore, experienced players that like to play online.  If you like to just sit down and play games by yourself, either by playing campaign or play with other people online, get a 360 if you want to play online, get a PS3 if you want to play alone.

This flowchart should help in making your decision.

Agreed, although I would like to mention that in regards to Playstation 3, if you are into HD and have the monitor/TV to really push the clarity, BLUE RAY IS BAD ASS! Not just regarding movies but games as well.

Best comparison I have ever heard is:

"If you have an HDTV/Monitor: DVD is like looking at a picture, Blue Ray is like opening a Window"

But, as I said, Mez's analysis stands true... As does the graphic... I have no friends. :(

i would also go with xbox for sport games, and more grown up games, the wii is great for multiplayer fun stuff, don't know bout the sport games in Wii tho, wii is definately better for family fun and will probably be used by your kid the most if you get it. The xbox has a more complex controller although it does not have a motion senser like the wii, it has more buttons, which could improve gameplay but might take more time to get used to. Also the xbox definately has more fps and better ones, meaning for more mature audiences, but there are plenty of games out there that are kiddy like, i guess you could get dance dance revolution if you want something for your kid, lol. i wouldnt even consider ps3, sorry all you ps3 lovers, it is only good for blue ray and a few select games, also if you plan to play online xbox costs every year bout $50, but it is far better than ps3's online, which is free. If you do get wii i would suggest super smash bros. brawl. Roommates and i play that all the time, i'm sure your kid would enjoy it.
