Yeah forget WoW and SWG.  Stick to BF1942 and purchase BF2.

i bought BF2 for the same reason i got BF42....for the mods. FH1 and FH2 (for those of you who don't religiously check the FH2 forums daily, or every 12 hours, the release is scheduled for the end of November. Just a heads up that it's actually being released.)

And then there's battlegroup-Frontlines, a WWII mod comming out by the end of the year, takes place on the russian front.

BF Pirates 2, very entertaining, it's already been released too. For pirate fans (like balth and phantom i'm guessing) you guys should definitely download it, the weapon animations and skins are made by the animator/skinner from FH2, so they're very high quality and accurate. The best map is Storm the Bastion, and they have remote-triggered opening doors on the Bastion, so you walk up to the doors and they open, but can only be opened from the inside.

Pirates2 is only 400 mb, takes like 20 minutes or less to get, simple install, click and play. Plenty of servers, very fun, and you can't "run 'n gun" like in BF2, since you have muskets and blunderbuss' you have to carefully place your shots.
