I've been having the same problem for a while, but I've usually been able to fix it.
When I try to start my computer up, it beeps a few times loudly, then the fan starts up and whirs very loudly, at what sounds like an abnormal speed. Then the fan keeps spinning very quickly, there are no more beeps, but the computer never starts up. Just a furious fan.
Now, what used to fix this was I would open up my computer and switch those two little doodads sort of near to a small, round, flat battery. Each is situated on two pegs of a set of three pegs. One doodad is labeled PASSWORD except something like PWRD. I'm not exactly sure. The other is labeled something like CRD. Like I said, they each sit on two pegs, but there are three. There are two sets of three pegs, and in each set, there is one piece of plastic straddling a pair of pegs, leaving one peg naked. So, if the three pegs in each set are called A B and C, and the piece of plastic stradles B and C, I switch it to A and B, and then back to B and C. And I do this for both pieces of plastic, meaning I do this at each of the two sets of three pegs. I'm sure this explanation was long winded, and hopefully you knew the parts I'm referring to without needing the explanation. Like I said, this used to fix it, but doesn't really anymore. Well, it worked earlier tonight, but about 5 min after I reached the desktop, the computer restarted, except it wouldn't restart back up. So now I'm stuck in the same old rut with a whirring computer fan in a computer that won't start up.
Does this problem sound familiar? I would really appreciate a surefire way to fix this, because switching those doodads back and forth doesn't fix it for good, and these days it isn't fixing the problem at all.
Thanks
Also, there was nothing big that happened that may have caused this. I simply put my computer on standby a few weeks ago, and it wouldn't come out of it. And this type of thing has been happening occasionally ever since. I don't go to porn, and I don't have weird programs on my computer. I'm a pretty safe computer user. Anyway, I hope you can help me!
