Turkey Server Help
« on: January 25, 2007, 03:58:51 PM »

I currently have a Turkey Server (EscapedTurkey) and all is well. But, it is running v1.61, and I want it to run 1.6 instead. They do not support 1.6 and so they will not help me, as I have asked for help everywhere. I have the 1.6 linux server install file (.run format) but do not know what to do with it or how to run the script correctly... I am not familiar with linux much, so yeah. I need help on installing the 1.6 server. I have FTP access and control panel access, along with a linux machine on hand. If anyone can help, it would greatly be appreciated. Thank You.

Just extract the 1.6 server install, ftp > delete all files for the game server only! then upload the new files > then just start it... 1.6 and 1.61 are the same except a few map changes and a version change.

What should I extract the file with? Because it's a .run file and looks like a script because when you click it, it opens in html and has a lot of code looking as if it was some sort of script loading... I also hear that I need to get the binaries of the file or something on a linux machine, the way the guys over at Escaped made it seem more complex than just extract and upload.
