It trys to start up and then it just stops,  Gets to where the little screen pops up then just stops running. I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it with same problem.  I can still play bf2142 so it cant be my videocard or any of that.

Check your screen resolution.

Try in 800x600 in resolution.It is sure, that will not be very pretty but i think you 'll can play..

I cant get far enough into the game to adjust the resolution.

You don't need to get in game, you can set it in your BF42 profile, but lets do this...

Ok 1st when you removed BF42 your profiles stayed and I am 99% sure one of your profiles is the problem, so you will need to remove "all" of them.

Right click on your Bf42 short cut and hit "properties".

Click "Find target". Now you are in your BF42 file folder.
now go to "Mods", then "bf1942", then "Settings", then "Profiles".

Now you should see one or more folders... I want you to "delete" every folder. Close everything down.

Now start up BF42 and redo your setting/profile.

let us know what happens.

I just did all of that, and it still does the same thing.  Im clueless about what the problem is.

Ok... The next problem is or could be in your settings folder, but it could be anything and there is no way to figure that out long distance.

Try to delete and install again, but this time do it while the BF42 file folder is open... AFTER you remove BF42, make sure EVERYTHING is gone from that folder, if the un-installer doesn't remove it, you delete it... Remove BF42 using the #1 CD, not add/remove programs.

Do Not install BF42 until you reboot your computer.

If still the game crashes, then you have a registry (the reboot should clean the reg, but)/driver problem.

I can still play bf1942 on my old computer, but the computer i built last year for my senior project is the one that it isnt working on.  Im not able to get on it right now but yes wasser there is a disk in it.

Did you make it in woodshop? LOL you need metal bits and stuff in it for it to work properly.

Ok i got it working i think. Thanks loaded , the files that werent getting deleted were admin and some other folders.  Seems to be working now.
