Title: Dealing with this virus
Post by: *MAFIA* OUTLAW on July 31, 2008, 07:28:47 PM
I tried to find a website where i could watch The Happening online but got suckered in into downloading a format for windows to watch it which happened to be a virus. (I was not in the right state of mind )=hint when this all happened. Not even my norton or spy sweeper can fully remove it so I will hopefully be taking it to our local PC doctor store to fix it. I might not be on for a few days depending on how long it will take to wait and get it fixed.

The only thing that the program said wasn't safe was something to do with my sound card which I don't think is the problem.

Thankfully i found where the whole file was so I used a combofix fix program to delete the infected files in my memory and i found the folder where the actual virus/spywhere is in so i deleted it and i am monitoring if any other problems occur.

Yeah whenever you can't get system restore, the firewall, spyware, antivirus, and hijack this to fix something, its in there pretty good.  So you all set or still taking it to the store?

Who ever made it was good. When I downloaded the virus it created a system restore point on itself so i couldn't set back to an earlier date. It went right pass the spyware shield, the firewall and the norton just because i was tricked into downloading the fake format update. So far things are running smoothly since i deleted the whole folder it was in but now internet explorer keeps giving me these error messages saying cannot open google.com(my homepage) and then says operation aborted. When i click refresh the page will load most of the time. Was going to try to reinstall it to see if it will work properly.
