I had to do a deconstructive restore earlier and now when i try to talk on vent i get this error.




   any suggestions to help?

From reading around it sounds like a soundcard driver issue (fairly generic diagnosis). Make sure you have the drivers for your specific sound card installed and not just the Windows generic one.
