About to buy my first laptop

I'm going to get a dell or alienware and i'm looking for one around $1,000. I can't even play games anymore unless I go to someone's house and crash, so that's why i'm getting one :P

What do you guys recommend for a gaming laptop, that is still light enough to carry around (around 10-14lb would be the highest I guess)?

Alienware M15x the M17x is what i'm looking at also, but what do you guys think would be the best buy? And one that will be reliable for "many" years? It doesn't have to be an alienware, but really don't want to waste what little money I have.

get a netbook, save 700 dollars. Gaming + laptop = super heavy, or a gay looking laptop with a 2hr battery life.

Just my opinion. But hey, if you want to have a super gaming lappy that'll play BF2 on full graphics for almost 1.5 hours, then go ahead and blow 1200 clams on just that. Your decision.

Does it have to be a laptop? If you want to game, just get a desktop.

Don't get Alienware, it's always too expensive.

Well I want something I can take around, or I would just build a pc.

Ya I would be paying for the alienware name, but it seemed like the alienware came with better parts than the dell products.

alienware is nice only if u got about 2k to blow...dell is shit..their video cards always blow dick...stick with a gateway, or something with intel cpu, nvidia 8600 or better and 4 gigs of ram....hell even a fucking mac with bootcamp....th at is a good choice...the mackbook comes with 3 gigs and a 9400 M for around 950....

I recommend Asus for a gaming laptop. I have a G50vt-x1 and it's been able to handle even most newer games. Plus the specs add up big time.

MACS ARE SHIT FOR GAMING! Always too many errors, and not compatible and different buttons and blah blah blah problems problems.

oH And starcraft is fun as hell.
