Cannot find drivers

I recently just installed Win 7 64 bit on my laptop, and for some reason my webcam and mic are not working. The orginal drivers were webcam assistant for gateway model M6577 and were only for win vista 32 bit. so the original drivers won't work. I've tried on gateways driver download site looking for 64 bit drivers that might work but still nothing... can someone help this poor computer so i can talk to people on vent???? Thanks.

its about 2 years old it has intel's core 2 duo processors in it it runs pissa with win 7 64 bit

Windows 7(and possibly vista) automatically atempts to find drivers for your hardware. When it doesn't find it, windows basically gives up on it and ignores it. It's most likely that your computer doesn't support windows 7 at the time being (or it may never be supported).
