Help / router info and stuff
« on: June 14, 2007, 06:11:43 PM »
alright, well i'm finally going to order that custom computer within the week, turns out i didn't need to get a job, a whole bunch of relatives gave me cash for graduation. I didn't think high school graduation was that big of a deal, oh well. I've now got enough to get my dream computer, gonna ask my parents to pay for shipping cuz i don't have enough.

Anyway, here's my question....we have one computer right now with internet access and no router because there's only one, but with the addition of another computer(mine), my mom wants to know if we need to upgrade our DSL charges for having another computer. I told her no, but i wasn't sure. Don't you just have to buy a router at like bestbuy or something, hook it up(tell me how to do that too please) and then you're good, right?

There isn't an extra fee for having multiple computers on the internet right? I know these sound like stupid questions, but i just want to make absolutely sure. I'll get the specs for the computer after i place the order, it should be badass. The video card is going to be an ATI X1950XTX 512mb, for a mere 211$. I'll get the rest of the info later.

Thanks in advance, hopefully i'll be up and pwning in 2-3 weeks max.

Help / fubar monitor
« on: May 31, 2007, 05:51:32 PM »
my monitor went wacky for no reason today when i turned it on, it has verticle neon green bands, about 4 inches away from each other and about 2 inches wide. Then there is horizontal neon purple and green going side to side and i can barely even read what i'm typing. It's a good monitor, 17 inch flag screen cathode style monitor from dell, bought in 2001. It's supposed to be a plug and play monitor so i don't think there are drivers for it. Any suggestions as to why it's fubar? How do i find out what model i have? Thanks for the help in advance.

i'm not sure if anyone else is looking for a good site to make a custom computer for you, but i found a really good one. When i get a job this summer i'm saving up to buy one, and i'm pretty convinced this is a good place to get one if you're not too confident assembling one yourself.

Help / dvd drivers
« on: April 29, 2007, 02:16:24 PM »
i have a sony dvd burner model "DVD/CD reWritable drive DRX-500UL."  It goes into the USB port, and i don't have the driver software for it anymore. I looked on their support site and they have one driver for this model, but it says use only if you have windows 2000SE or something. What should i use? A link would be nice.

i know i'm retarded, but help would be appreciated.

here's a video clip that a kid took during a really boring forced assembly that everyone had to go to last year, he synched it with the pokemon theme song to add spice.
It's like the dance 1 repeat class or something, 6 ugly morbidly obese mexican chola chicks who are all in pre-algebra repeat classes and don't have eyebrows. Entertainment?

BF 2 / Great Mod for BF2: Project Reality
« on: January 23, 2007, 10:12:31 PM »
if anyone is into realism mods, i highly suggest downloading this map.
a few details about it...
-no longer takes full MP5 clip to kill someone, takes 3 rifle rounds to kill someone
-new weapons, can no longer be revived if you were shot in the head
-new vehicles/teams/maps
-super-neato maps and physics
-blood added when you're shot
-the whole mod is based on teamwork, so it makes it more of a tactical game

If you don't like any of these things don't bother downloading it and telling me later what a piece of shit it is. If you like this sort of thing, then go get it here...Enjoy!

Help / Need more RAM
« on: December 19, 2006, 07:24:18 PM »
alright, i'm going to get 512 more ram, but i need to know how to identify what kind i have first.
1. Can someone please tell me how to correctly find out what kind of RAM i have and what model number/type?
2. Can someone also show me where to find the cheapest kind of that certain model?

I would go for getting another gig of RAM but i can only afford another 512, please don't someone say, "screw it, 1 gig sucks, get 13 gigs of ram like i do so den yous can prawn online gaming!111"
I just need 512, and if someone could show me how to find out what kind i have and where to find the cheapest, that would be great. Thanks.
