Sounds like a pretty good resolution. Why that car though?
Because i need to expand my VW army, and they're cheaper hatchbacks that get great gas mileage while still being turbo charged and manual trans, which makes it a lot more fun.

To everyone I have disrespected, That was the 2006- 2009 Misfit. 2010 marks a whole new year of respect, kindness and general concern for those in need and in hopes of a better, happier life. There are SO many people I have to apologize to for my past actions I can't write you all. But know this, 2010 I will make up for it with a new more positive me. No more guns, no more slicing people up, no more stuffing people in trunks and setting their cars on fire. I am done with that stuff. 2 names come to mind here that I have been a real ass to when it was completely un-warranted. MG and Mase. I Apologize. And that is sincere.
You all take it easy and be safe.

I accomplished my new years resolution on Saturday, bought a 2000 VW GTI for 5500 bucks.
Specs...
1.8 turbo charged 4 banger
5 spd manual trans
Silver in color
limo tint for rear 3 windows
Monsoon stereo system
Sunroof
80K miles
new clutch, breaks, suspension
I love it so far, really cheap commuter car that accelerates like a monster...then again i'm used to driving a VW Bus. Either way, i'm quite pleased with my first "real" car purchase.

haha thanks, this is true those things run for ever. The 83 Rabbit that i learned to drive stick on had 230K, and the odometer on my 71 Bus has done a full rotation already (made it to 999,999 and then started over)...it's had 2 motors since then, but the body has over 900K miles on it and still runs like a champ.
In comparison most of the other GTI's on craigslist.org had between 120K and 160K miles, so mine is somewhat low compared to the others on the market.
