Hey for those of you out there with digital cameras, which would you suggest? I am looking to buy in the next couple months or so. Something 7-8 megapixels and brand name. thx.

Get a cannon, kodak,olympus,etc etc. Go to the store and look, or research on this grand thing we all use called the internet :)

whoa 7-8mp are u gonna be taking like panoramic pics or something, because for a normal user, it is a reccommended to get a 4-5mp. but yeah if u want a real good one get a kodak or a sony.

canon make the best professional digi's, and if ur looking for 8 mp, u'll want a pro camera. nikon's are good too, but i've heard some misleading things. consumer reports usually has the best insight on these types of the things, so check there, as well as cnet. other than that, it's all about a camera that best fits ur needs and limitations

We just got a new Sony Cybershot. 6mp, its fucking sweet :).

But yeah, if you want to do like anything professional with it, then get a cannon. If you are willing to spends some big money on it, get the EOS 350D.
