well, first of all, i believe you cannot run 3 sticks or ram, you have to have either 1,2, or 4. and why buy 2 more if you already have 1? just buy 1.

right now, i have 2 sticks of 512mb ; then possibly two more of 1gb each. wouldn't that work out? i saw somewhere on dell"s site a while back for a configuration and there was an option of 3gb. dont ask me, i just saw it. what do you mean just buy 1 more. 1 more gb?

yeah if u have the money go for it.

so then it's not a good deal for the amount and quality of memory? looked online but there r not really and reviews or user opinions.

Are you sure the bus requires 667mhz? most systems use 533mhz. If you have 4 slots then you could get 1GB more, or get 2 more 512MB sticks and have 2GB I have this much. And have found nothing yet that will use it.

he has one of those new high end dells so it's possible.

yea, i'll probably just get two sticks of 512 to make it total 2gb. yes it does require 667 or 533, but i will go with 667mhz. i guess i could get 3gb, but that's just way too much. my system will allow up to 8gb memory, but that's gonna cost a pretty penny.

you wont need 8gb for another 10 years.

More like 50 years 8 gigs of ram is a shit load.

ya right! lol in 50 years computers will be able to fly!

in some high end macs, you can add upto to a maximum of 16 gb, so you can imagine the price. it is way up in the thousands.

wow 16gb ram might as well make it a server.
