is try to conect and a screen saying this pops up "connected to server but unable to authenticate the specified user/password"do i have to register my name or something?

There was sticky at the top of the forum where you posted this thread that explains how to get on our ventrilo server.

balthy's second link is a lot more helpful, it gives a full video tutorial. and if those dont work, ventrilo was not to be visited by u.
