Ok heres my problem. I have recently not had my sound running for my computer cause the hardware got deleted or something, and when i play bf2142 i wouldnt lag at all. Now i have my sound back and when i play i lag for the first 15 minutes or the entire time.
Anyone know what the problem is with me lagging, its really starting to annoy me.

How does the hardware get deleted? lol. u meant software/drivers or something? when u reinstall software/drivers, do the exact version u had before, if u have not already. new ones sometimes don't work as well. happens to video card drivers sometimes.

Is there a sound quality opyion in the game? if so turn the quality down...
Sound just causes the PC to do a little more work. When I had my old dell piece of crap 4100 i used to play Roller Coaster Tycoon and the sound on that made me lag. I always had to turn it off. So if there is no quality option you might have to play with no sound...

Or if you have the option turn the channels down or set it to hardware mod.

Its currently on software and 32 sounds, i can set it to 16 sounds but it doesnt sound right then.. What would change if i set it to hardware?

It would offload the sound work to the soundcards on board processor.

Get a sound card Kraut, it will make your games run smoother, plus your sound with be better. I recommend the X-Fi series :)

I have Soundblaster. Boe's right, just get a new card, they're between $20-$100 depending on what you want, and you'll hear your games and music better. Just do it.

i have always wondered how much better my shit would sound if i got a sound card... as of right now i can see it getting better but i may just be used to it.

Yeah you have one, everyone does, or else you wouldn't hear sound. You either have one that came with your computer or one you bought and installed. Click "start" then "run" then type in "dxdiag" Click on the sound tab and it'll tell you what you have. Get on ventrilo, this will be eaiser.

Beetle are you trying to give me a hint to get on vent more often :) I set the options to hardware instead software and its alot faster now, i might be getting bf1942 tonight also.
