Hey, I need your opinion about this graphics card.
A 'Ati Radeon X800 Crossfire'. Is it a good card, or is it... Normal or bad?

Depends on what you want to play, and how you want to play it. It will run normal games fine on the highest settings, but for the new games out there you might want to get something better.

But back on the subject, It's a good card carny but not a great one. You are most likely going to get the results of what Boe stated. If your mobo can support it though get two of those bad boys and crossfire them, then you'll be in business.

Well swampy they are both about the same, just falls down to what brand you prefer. Also the more memory the card has the better it will perform, and the cpu does the encoding ;)

Thanks Bone...I thought that was the case....I am running an AMD Athlon 64 3800...Was thinking about an X2 4800...didn't know about the video card though...I heard the ATI was far superior to the Nvidia but was not sure...

Here is a GREAT question - does your computer's ram have anything to do with how your video card runs?

If its a shared card yes. Or one of the cheap low end cards that use some of its on memory, and some of the systems ram.
The more ram you have will always make a big difference. But 512MB is the base to be able to use any card to its fullest.

It's really good because they go in-depth on almost everything.
I read this part on it: "If you get an x800 with reference cooling then you better be sure that your PC is cooled sufficiently as all that heat will warm up the ambient temperature of your PC's inside and cascade the effect by warming up other components."
There a lot of really cool and new games that are coming out and I don't know if that card will be good enough for those. How much money are you willing to spend on a card? And what types of games are you going to play???
