When I start up my pc it like 90% chance that it gives me an error. It says something with the services.exe (in the windows 32 folder) that it stopped sending some statuscode (-1073741819), whiche results in AUTHORITY windows 32 taking over and rebooting my system! THIS IS PISSING ME OFF! I've looked on the internet, and found some stuff about a trojan, and that you basicly have to reinstall your windows. I'm wondering if there is any other fix for it? Cause it might be a while before I can format and reinstall.
Thanks Boemann
Oh I forgot to mention, I got WINDOWS XP PRO SP2, and like 2 weeks ago I downloaded some infected file, but I thought my virusscans removed it. Also I ran virusscans, registery cleaners and programs like that, no effect :(.

Boot up into repair mod, delete the file, restore mbr and startup records. Then reboot, if it still happens. Boot up into repair mod and do a system fix restore. Windows will replace all files for windows and remove bad tagged files.
Pop in the windows install disk let it boot, hit R then do as I have said.

Hmm Bone, I just figured out that I actually have a clean installation backup on my pc. I think I'm going to put the back-up on my pc. That ofcourse means that I have to reinstall everything, but that will also fix all my problems, right? Plus it will clear all the shit from my pc that I don't need = making it a bit faster :P. Do you think that by replacing this installation with the backed-up one will fix the problems?

Then there's no need for you to reply, so don't.
Boemann, quit messing up your computer. J/K, follow Bonehead's directions and your problem should be fixed.

Problem is, my dad doesn't know where the CD's at and he doesn't have time to search for it (its my sisters birthday 18yo).
And yes I am messing my system up, and that is not kidding lol. Thats why I'm going to replace everything with a clean backup.

I had the same problem you have, and I did what Bone suggested and all is fine. I did lose a few setup things, but that was easy to do.

Well even if he doesn't have the CD, isn't there a cerial number on the computer somewhere and you could call and get a new one.

OK what the hell! I tried system restore, failed twice. But the weird thing is, I'm on that pc right now. All I got for an error was "system has recovered from a serious error" (I have been getting those last days), but its running fine!
Oh well, I'm going to put my stuff on an external HDD from my dad and reformat my pc, I'm done with this shit.
Well before I'm doing that I might wait a couple of days to see how it runs.
Any suggestions what to do else? Now system recovery doesn't work?

I finally got my back-up to work :D! This is the backup of the clean installation of windows. Whiche means I got NOTHING else (lol). I still have all my personal stuff, just nothing installed. Thanks for the help, not that it really helped, but at least I learned a shit load of things from it. Let the installationpa rty begin! WOOT!
