Title: do I need a patch?

I wanted to play online on *MAFIA*-- 's server, and it crashed. now when I go on it, it says wrong version. And *MAFIA* modded V.1.6. (that is what is says on the list.) do i need a patch?

You need the patch switcher, as long as you have 1.61 installed.

Try to connect not thru the game interface, but thru the 'All Seeing Eye' or 'Game Spy'.    I am not sure why, but it seems to work better when trying to connect to servers.  Run the patch switcher even before launching the game.

However, I read Bonehead's post about switching to 1.61..  Still, ASE and GS work better for me, so try itif you still having problems.

Yes you do, its easy.  Just download it from here (http://dw.com.com/redir?pid=10614813&merid=113677&mfgid=113677<ype=dl_dlnow&lop=link&edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3040-2250_4-10614813&ontId=2250_4&dlrs=1&destUrl=http://www.download.com%2F3001-2250_4-10614813.html), install it, and you're good to go.

Watch the double posting too.  Click the "edit" button on the bottom right of your screen and just add/take out from your post.
