Every once in awhile, my comp screen goes black for a few seconds when im playing a game, and the game will still be going on.
Does this issue deal with my monitor or my pc cause the cables for the monitor are where they are supposed to be..
Might happen outside of my games, but this is my first time playing on this computer since i built it :D

What is your card and manufacturer?
If you have nVidia, go to control panel, Add/Remove Programs, then go to Nvidia Drivers, and only uninstall the Display Drivers.
Remember to go to the Nvidia Site (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp) and download the new driver version. Click on Fraphic Drivers, then select which video card you have, then select the appropriate Operating System you have.
Download the drivers, then when you see it, double click on the icon to run it. Restart when done.
I do not know about the process if you have an ATI. Hope this helps.

What's the exact model of your card? I'll try to find a proper driver for you.

Start, right click on My Computer, Properties. Go to the hardware tab, then click on Device manager. Go to and expand "Display Drivers" thing, and it will say ur vid card.
Or you can right click on the desktop, then properties, then the settings tab. U'll see a pic of ur monitor, then underneath that it says
"Display: Blah Blah Monitor on blah Blah Video Card"

Use the same steps i mentioned with the nvidia card. Download the drivers here. (https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/7-4_xp_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_44981.exe)
Make sure you uninstall your old drivers first before installing the new ones.
NOTE: These drivers are only meant for Windows XP Home/Professional
i hope these drivers correct your screen problems.

I use GURU3D drivers and they work fine, I never had an ATI card before, so I don't know anything about their drivers and stuff

Some lcd have a nasty habit of going blank.

I just tryed it on my other comps monitor and it doesnt flicker on that comp. Also if i press the "2" on the monitor it flickers the same way it flickers during games and on the desktop.
Is there software i need to install for this monitor? Its a ViewSonic: Widescreen LCD

Did you ever install monitor drivers? If not, go to their site and download them! (if they have any). I had to install my Samsung screen so I could use DVI optimal.
