Title: comp not working

So i get my new vid card and ram and i put it in ( pretty sure i didint fuck up) and tyr it and i get a BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP etc etc every few secodns and my monitor goes to sleep instantly. So i take out the vid card and try it again same thing. I take out the ram and put in the old one  try it again (with the way it originally was) and i get the same thing. So i dont know what to do thats where you guys come in . Any help much appreciated TY

So far ive been told i probly fried my mother board anything besides that that you guys can think of?

The majority of new-gen cards have to have an extra power source other than what is powered by your PCI-X or AGP slot. I'm guessing he forgot to plug in a molex connector from the PSU to the vid card.

actually the new ram i got doesnt work for some reason. and when i went to put the old one back in i didint put it back in all the way. i know i know i fail hardcore

Yup, when you put it back in, you should hear a big clicking sound.  Almost sounds like it broke, but it didn't.

balth meant to say the pci-x ? 16 slot only supplies 75w and most new gen cards need 100 to 375 to work :) so playing a high end game will spin that meter faster than a dryer or AC :D

If you want to be sure that it is your RAM you should download memtest (http://hcidesign.com/memtest/download.html) and run it for a couple of hours. Yes, just a few minutes isn't enough to be sure that your RAM is right.

So next time you blaim the ram stick itself run that program.
