Well, I'm getting a new computer, a 'Acer Aspire M5500'.
This are the specifications:
Processor: Intel Core™ 2 Quad Processor Q6600 2.4 GHz
Memory: 2GB
Harddisk: 500GB S-ATA
Videocard: 1024 MB (max.) nVidia GeForce 8600GT
DVD-Rewriter: 16x DVD-RW Double Layer
System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (NL/EN)
(Not really happy with Vista, but I can play Crysis though.)
And DirectX 10.
Good or what?

Damm Nice Only I Don't Like Vista ..... Instal Xp pro And Than Its Fine :D

The videocard sucks for the other specs that you have.
Pc is good, but still, you should have gone for a system with an 8800 GTS 320mb..

Will update after... it was a complete system. and there was no PC with a 8800 GTS, and it was cheap as hell.
I wanted to update my old one but then I saw this one and I knew it were good specifications .
I'm getting a better Graphics card afterwards. ;)
(want Crysis to run smoothly) ;D

don't listen to boe, that's an excellent computer you've got there carnage. Have fun with it, and just remember....th ey may make fun of your system, but they also waste thousands of Euros on their computers while you got a good deal.
What did it cost?
-
I still own a 286sx :)
cpu: intel 20mhz
memory: 512kb
hard drive: 80mb maxtor
floppy: 3 1/2 - 5 1/4
video: intel vga vector 16bit color with 128kb memory
modem: 1200bps

What OS do you have on it , Bone?

w00t, how much was it?
Oh and you might want to wait for the new nvdia series, that will be realeased in like november, they are like twice as good, and I don't think the cheapest high-end will cost a lot more than one of those 8800GTS's now
-
@Boe & Wasser, It was €998,- ($1367.45). ;)
@Beatle, I came out of nowhere. :D I'm going to play some games again.
And two questions, I'm getting that 8600GT Graphics card. I'm planning to buy the 8800GTS after sometime anyway, when I buy the 8800GTS will they run together, or do I need to get out the 8600GT?
And, I have Quad Core, on the back of the box on the 8800GTS it says (With recommended requirements) Dual Core, will it even run on it and/or make (good) use of the Quad Core?

holy hell, nevermind. That's a lot of moneys, i thought 900 was a lot to put into a comp when i had mine built....
NOPE! That's what sucks about Nvidia, if you want to slightly upgrade a graphics card by adding a second one in SLI mode, you either have to buy a brand new one and get rid of your old one, or get two that are exactly the same model.....Not with ATI though!
-
I have windows 95 on it lol windows 98 wants more memory :)
-
at least it's not 3.1

Nvidia uses SLI, which means you have to have the same type of card for SLI to work. So the 8600 and the 8800 will not work together.
They probebly haven't updated that box yet. It's probebly something that came out of the factory a long time ago, before quads where there (thats my guess). But I'm pretty sure that the 8800 will work perfectly with that Q6600, seeing how you can buy pc's with Q6600's and 8800GTS's in them :).
But I still think you should wait, if you're not planning on buying a replacing videocard (which atm isn't really necessary untill crysis and assassin's creed come out and you want to play those on high settings), for the new series of Nvidia.

I'm not buying a new graphics card right after I get the comp...
I first want to see how it runs with Crysis, I want Crysis on maximum, so I will see. ;)
