Title: PC Upgrade time
Post by: *MAFIA* Manowar on August 07, 2008, 01:20:32 PM
Any thoughts for a new mid range system?  I've got a few ideas so far for my Motherboard:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=EVGA+123-YW-E175-A1+nForce+750i+&x=17&y=17

Processor:
 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core Processor, 2.40 GHz, 8M L2 Cache, LGA 775

Total specs?  The chip looks nice though - I'd still stick with a 3.0 dual-core but each his own.

This is a simply nothing more then a picture of a PC case - you can get it with an Intel chip, moron. :-\

You mean you don't have to get Vista?  You mean I can put what ever I want on there.  Even Fedora?   :o

general YES, but there can occur some problems, if Vista is already installed.
many new hardware-drivers like for video card, network card and so r just supported by Vista. so if u set the computer up with XP, some drivers may not work => useless then, so be carefull

always watch out that the drivers r still working on the other OS. if yes, i don´t see a problem with changing the OS.

yh thats true and another thing with not having vista is that you can't play any games that requier DX 10 as Direct X10 is vista only so if your planning to play any games requiering DX 10 then be sure to get vista

I did compare with 4 other sites.  Only one had a lower price but there warranty and restocking fee sent me back to Cyberpower.com . The actual was only $1481 but tax, shipping, and fuel charge?  sent it up.  here is the break down

Coupon: SMARTCOMPU (5% Discount)    -$77.95
                                                  SUBTOTAL  $1,481.05
                                          Sales Tax (8.25%)    $122.19
                                    Shipping: Fedex Ground    $65.00
                                            Fuel Surcharge    $14.00
----------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                GRAND TOTAL  $1,682.24

As far as the free shit, hell yea. You put it out there I'm gonna grab it (no Hellraiser I won't grab your penis) so I snagged them all.

thats a point you shouldn't be charged for shipping as the price of the stuff should cover that but if they are charging for shipping look else were, or go to your loacal pc store and look for them compentents and if it works out cheaper getting the stuff from the store then your in luck as no shiping charge! lol GL on the new pc (must get myself a high spec pc)
