Title: PC SHUTS OFF
Post by: *MAFIA* Hellraiser on August 15, 2008, 03:22:11 AM
I just recently got a new computer as most of you know.  I am having a problem however.  For some reason, I will be in game and vent and the son of  a bitch will just restart.  I don't know where to even start in checking shit.  So if anyone could help, I would appreciate it.  Thanks.

it sounds like some kinda over heading or something...

download and run Speedfan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan434.exe).

and post a screenshot to begin with...

I had the same problem. So I got a new power supply unit (as advised by Loaded) and it has worked fine ever since. They only cost about $20 or less from any electronic shop and are very simply to hook up.  8)

Ok, the power suppy is new, and the ram is pretty fucking good.  I don't have the specs on me but I know I built it for gaming, and got the best shit I could afford and it is pretty good shit.

I just built a computer and had the same problem. It was over-heating. The fan that came with the CPU wasn't fully seating on the chip. I bought a new fan and everything was good. CP had the right idea, I would download SPEEDFAN, that's what clued me in to what the problem was.

there could be so many reasons, like:
# Wrong type of ram
# Another reason is i you have your base unit somewere it doesnt get anougth air circulation it will heat up and there for leading to the pc reseting as the cpu gets to hot, so make sure were it takes it air and sends it back out isn't against a wall if its near a wall make sure its a good 2 iches away from the wall
#  When You play a game you use the cpu more it could be the case that you need a better cooler/fan for you cpu (if the cpu actually came with a fan for it then thats not the problem)

theres so many things.

I had the same problem a few years back.  Found a case fan failed. Replaced and all was good.  Sounds like an over heating issue.
