So I am thinking about getting a PS3. For the people that have them, or for the people that hears stuff about them, is there anything wrong with them? I mean, like the XBOX 360 has the red ring. Give me some opinions. I didn't like the Xbox, so is the PS3 better?

multiplayer is a monthly payment thing, i don't like xbox's because of this feature especially. You already shell out 400 bones for the fucking console/game/controller, and you're using your internet connection...w hy the shit should you have to pay to play it online?
PS3 has Blu-ray player, wi-fi, a better controller (in my opinion), doesn't get the red ring problem, and you play multiplayer the way it should be played....free!

I, for one, actually own a PS3.
I've had it for 6+ months and I haven't had any problems with it. The Bluray is great, and the Bluetooth is convenient for headsets. Some people say XBOX has more\better online capabilities. I dissagree. The people you play with are older and more mature, probably due to the pricetag. My PS3 has only overheated\froze one time in the 6 months. It had been on for nearly 10 hours in a poorly ventilated area, so it was expected. To sum it all up, they have no problems at all, that I know of. Plus, I have one =]

Ps3's Yellow Light of Death = 360's Red Ring of Death. So don't go giving that bullshit for a reason.

I'm pretty sure that the yellow light of death doesn't exist anymore. Plus, that was in the original 60gig versions.

Ya but it's a lot more rare, the ps3 is just capable of more, i could be on this site with my ps3 if i wanted, or even FaceBook. You can download a Linux or Windows xp Os on it to make it a legit computer and switch between standard sony or windows at a click of a button.
ps3 has resistance 2 (xbox's halo) an average of 160k people on cod5 all the time for ps3, thats all you need, who cares if xbox has thousands more, you only need 12 for a game
All in all you can get a 20gig ps3 for a fair amount and the online for some games are just too similar to contrast between xbox and ps3. or go for the 80 gig and have chrome on the sides!

You realize if you have a windows xp -Media center or windows vista you can have a web browser on the 360 too right?
I've had it for 6+ months and I haven't had any problems with it. The Bluray is great,
ps3=pretty blu ray player.
The people you play with are older and more mature, probably due to the pricetag.
I have played on both and i think the reason the xbox crowd seems more immature is due to the fact that xbox comes with a mic for everyone,not just those who pay an extra 40-50 for a headset for it. i played cod 4 on the ps3 last year and i got teamkilled and yelled at by 8 year olds just as much....

The immature players online are the ones with mommys and daddys who don't love them so they get them a system for the brats to yell at other people and get attention. No matter what, a parent can hate their kid for $200 or for $400. It's all the same.

Better selection for arcade with xbox. Marbles FTW!!!
Also look by your local area and see the selection for games they have for ps3.

the only problem is that the cpus are not adiquite enough for windows, and many java/ shockwave / and many other things wont work, the ps3 has many things found in super cpus and its only design intended for gaming, its running an Nvidia graphics and ect, the only thing is u can change the os, but u will have a unit as usefull as a brick..read up more b4 u make that ur choice for buying one...nimrods
