So now that I have a new BF2 key, are there any steps I need to take before trying to play online to keep from getting ban from PB? I don't wanna risk it again... And no, I am not hacking.
The reason I am asking is because I remember when I was hacking a while back, the Helios forums told me to access the site from another computer (or from a browser installed on a flash drive) so PB didn't detect I had been to a hacking site. So I just would like to know if I should take some steps before trying to go online again.

A new key should give you a clean slate.

You should be good unless you've received a hardware ban. Then you need a new HDD among some other things, of which I do not remember...

PB does not do hardware bans anymore. They stopped a couple years ago.

The only reason I ask fellas, is because I got banned last time for no reason at all. Should I at least use a new name when I start playing again? What If I have a hack on my computer but I don't use it when playing online? Am I then subject to a ban?

I wouldn't think so, some of Mafia is actually hacking right now on Bf2 and have been banned several times from specific servers; we have been using names like *MAFIA*Malbert, no space in between since it isn't allowed if it's not a clan tag and since someone already took Malbert. But just include your tag and come join our squad on vent; playing with hackers can be very helpful. :evil:

PB does scan your files while you play so yes, it does detect files on your computer. 1942 hacks should be fine but don't have any BF2 hacks that are called hack.exe and don't put them on your desktop. Put it inside a random folder somewhere.
