I remember when he said he took his own gun to Iraq.  However, it is illegal to do that.  That was one of the many things he said that made me wonder and question his service.  The other was him saluting one of his NCOs. The only reason an NCO would get saluted was back in the long days ago if he was the pay officer, which I don't even think NCOs where pay officers.  Loaded would know better then I.  We had direct deposit since I have been in.  Wow, I am almost at 15 years.  Only 5 more till I retire.  I can't wait.

Oh and I like the shout out.  So what type of weapon did you use.  If you say a sniper rifle I am going to kick you in the balls.  I mean did you use the M24 7.62 or the Barrett .50 cal??

I used my own rifle, I didn't like the issued junk. I own a Steyr HS "http://weapons.a-why.com/steyr50hs.php" I outfitted it with a side feed clip "12rnds" Simmons 10,2,100 scope. Optoelectronic, night, infrared, range finder, small on board weather readouts. Rotation calculations, POI compensator.
I only used AP rounds .50 cal sabot to 7.62mm solid cordite core. I wanted the best to protect my brothers in arms. Even you hell Smiley

Finally found it! That scope doesn't even make sense. It's a 2-10x100? The hell?

What is the reason behind not being able to bring your own weapon?

What is the reason behind not being able to bring your own weapon?
different reasons.  1. because if it breaks, who can fix it and pay for the parts?  2.  The ammo, who is going to pay for it and ship it.   3.  Mainly thought the military services are trained on certain weapons, and they can't really gauge how good or accurate you are with your personal weapon.  Plus, when it comes to reentry into the US, you have to go through customs.  If it isn't a US military weapon, they will not let you into the states with it.  There are certain circumstances that they will allow foreign services weapons into the states, however they will fall into the category of "war trophy", that the unit has to maintain.  It takes a lot of paper work and a lot of people to bless off on it.  More trouble then it is worth.
