Title: Electric Shavers
Post by: *MAFIA* Scooby on July 05, 2012, 09:20:46 PM
Does anyone use facial electric shavers? I want to switch from razors to electric but not sure which one to get.

I'm looking at foil shavers rather than the rotary ones. Would prefer wet/dry shaver. Nothing over $150.

Option 1 (http://www.amazon.com/Braun-3Series-380S-4-Wet-Shaver/dp/B00517W45G/ref=sr_1_8?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1341550731&sr=1-8)
Option 2 (http://www.amazon.com/Braun-3Series-340S-4-Wet-Shaver/dp/B004UQ6Q62/ref=sr_1_6?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1341550731&sr=1-6)
Option 3 (http://www.amazon.com/Braun-Series-5-550cc-Shaver-System/dp/B003YJB026/ref=sr_1_4?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1341551872&sr=1-4)

more???

I'd go with Option 1.  I use a razor, but have used electric in the past.  Good luck!

I used to have an option 3 and liked it.  The refills are like printer ink though.  A little costly but at least you get a clean shave everytime.  And my wife says it does a great job on her leg's so your good to go.   :coolie:

I've always wondered about this... I have a $40 Norelco rotary shaver that does a "decent" job. It get a pretty close shave in most areas but it just takes a while. I would recommend going the cheaper route. This way even if it doesn't perform up to your standards you can always finish with a razor and shave a LOT of money because your not shaving your entire bal, er.. face.

Trust me dude, you're spending so much money trying to upgrade this.  And you aren't even going to be able to shave any body parts with it.  The specs on those razors were good...three hundred years ago years ago.  You're going to regret this dude.  Just save up your money and buy one of these http://www.zafirro.com/products/Zafirro-Iridium.html (http://www.zafirro.com/products/Zafirro-Iridium.html)

My facial hair grows like a mother fucker, and I've had electric razors in the past. Used shitty BIC razors, braun electric, some 6 blade cartridge razor, and have used a double edge Merkur safety razor for a year now and won't ever be going back to an electric. The electric razors tug your hair too much for my liking, and when it comes to closeness the single blade disposable razors seemed to perform almost equally.

Using the double edge Merkur razor i pretty much never get ingrown hairs (which didn't happen often, but would sometimes occur under the chin) and it will give you zero irritation if you do it right. It's a sharp as fuck blade that will slice your face if you apply pressure, but if you just hold it the right way and let it slide down your face at the right angle, you'll get the closest damn shave and it's much cheaper than any other alternative I know of.

For the razor you're looking at maybe 30 bucks, a 100 pack of blades cost me 7 bucks on amazon (I use 1 or 2 blades a week, shaving roughly every other day), and soap and a brush shouldn't be more than another 20 bucks.

I'm pretty damn picky when it comes to a good shave, and that is the most fool proof and cost efficient way to shave in my opinion. Cheap, close, no irritation, and no having to buy cartridges or batteries. Just my 2 cents.

Try it bro, its $3 for double blade, $6 for the 4-blade, and $9 for the 6-blade.  They give you 5 cartridges/month for the double, and 4 cartridges/month for the other two.  You could also change it to receive them every other month instead, or cancel any time.  You get the handle the first time your order, and if you want to switch blades you can do that too.  HANDLE IT
