Anyone know what this means?

The guy in first place had a -20 skill, and the rest of the players varied quite a bit.

Heres the explanation on the BF3 forum...
So basically, this is what determines your skill level on your stats page:
-You gain/loose[sic] SL based on every confrontation with another player
-Killing a highly skilled enemy gives you more points than killing someone less skilled
-Points are not transferred from a player to another, they are simply added/subtracted based on the encounter and the SL of both parts (thus, after an encounter, one part may go up 50 points while the other loses only 20)
-The SL is used for matchmaking
Does this mean if I kill a level 100 player my skill level will go up a shit load? It would seem that most lvl 100's would have shitty skill level all the time then.

I have no idea what it is, how it works, or what its use is. All I know is mine is usually over 450. 489 atm

Maybe his skill level sucked because of not a even fight? By the looks of it he was in a BMP vehicle with most his kills (1 grenade), so vehicle vs person, would be a shitty match up so his skill level went down the toilet?

I've gone through rounds with negative skill, I guess that meant I was killing noobs?
My highest skilled rounds are in the upper hundreds, when Pat & I were in the chopper spawn killing. I guess it was because we were destroying vehicles and getting kills at the same time. I'm not sure...
