BF1942 is normally a 32 bit game, so yeah

I heard there is a file you need to patch your game with for it to work on the gameservers.

I think he is saying that the game wont run on his PC in general. Try downloading the exe patcj from team-simple.org/downloads (Download 1.61 or 1.612 retail exe patch)
