Opinion's about Virginia
« on: January 12, 2009, 09:50:39 AM »

I may be looking at a change of venue in regards to my current employment.

The thing is the job is located in Richmond, VA

Anybody ever lived there, or close, or in Virginia, and if so, what is your general opinion of the area?

Any insight would be appreciated.

They make good tobacco there so its gotta be quite sunny. What I smoke: Plus its full of Virginians so there must be alot of poontang to de-flower. Sounds good, go for it. I think slaves are still legal there aswell which is always a bonus  ;D

Richmond is similar to Charlotte or Winston Salem in my opinion. Decent source for jobs especially dealing with computers. It's pretty much a typical high populated city, not to the extent of chicago or new york though.

If you have allergies to pollen and ragweed like me, you shouldn't go there.. Or anywhere around here. Not to bring myself into this, but that's where i've been the last 6 months, been having to keep an ice pack on my eyes because my sinuses are swollen to hell, and the 3 meds they gave me didn't get rid of it.

Charlotte and Raleigh would be a much nicer place if you're looking for a computer job, they also have good music in both of those places. More acoustic stuff in Raleigh and metal in Charlotte.

I lived in Virginia with my family for a few years when I was 4, TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC. other than that, a house and townhouse are both expensive but it is a nice area. All of my family lived in and around Richmond and DC so i'm up there around the holidays :D

From what I've seen living here for the past 6 months is that Virginia is just a more technologicall y updated Kentucky.  You'll feel right at home.

You'll be right on the Union lines, bring lots of stores and fortify your position.  Set your pickets to guard your flanks as that Union Calvary is expected too probe for weaknesses.  Call for reinforcements if the main body moves on your position.
