hello again to the new hellos.
Wasserfaller.. . What drivers are you running? I know there has been problems with 7.5 and 7.4s running in crossfire, so i would go to 7.3s, AMD has really messed up things after taking over ATI. But I have to say you have me very lost when you say you have 9700 cards running in crossfire mode, how is that possible? It was my understanding that crossfire was only able to be ran on x1000s cards or is it 100 series and 1000s series. In any case I have no clue what is going on if it isn't the drivers and or a bad card.
I would do the driver down grade 1st to 7.3 and if that doesn't work Yes remove one card at a time and see what one is still giving the bad screen and if get a bad full screen then you know it is that card.
sorry for late response, yeah i've got dual 9700 Pro cards, i'm pretty sure it was the first card offered in Crossfire mode, i'm posative there's two because the one time i opened my computer my friend pointed both of them out. My parents went to bestbuy to go buy an outdated ATI video card, something like an ATI 1050 or something, a cheap one that'll do the trick. It has to be AGP i guess, and they're not too common.
I'm ordering mine on tuesday or wednesday, so hopefully i don't have any problems installing drivers for that one either since it comes without an OS.
One question though, when i'm taking out the Dual 9700 Pro's, do i just uninstall the ATI catalyst control center and all other drivers, turn compy off, physically take out cards, replace with an ATI 1050, turn on compy, install drivers and voila? Or is there something else i need to do...?
