         Got my HD in this other computer ( a Systemax ).

         

I got my sound 2 work for about an hour after i put my sound card in it ,
and it just took 4 min's 2 load BF-1942 , then it was so laggy i could hardy
fly ( only got 256 of RAM in it .

 Looks like i got 2 find a CPU fan on the internet 4 my old computer !!!

I only have 1gb ram on this stationary and it runs bf1942 really quick..

10usd = 10 us dollars, and as long as its at least 10 dollars it will be ok.

Is all AMD's the same size Processors ???
Mine is old & it says Athlon 64 ( and XP .... whatever the hell that is ).

 P.S ..... and i think it says 2400 or something

You could use either one. The one on the right is from a AMD Athlon 64 3500 and the left is from a Opteron 185... What really matters is the series of CPU, in this case the "XP" and that in turn means the mother board needs the correct mount to hold the heat sink.

Look at your heat sink, it should look like the one on the right.

How about this... I have the AMD Athlon 64 3500 and its heat sink. They both would work in your computer. The CPU will give you 3x+/- the speed you have now. Think of a price you would like to spend on a CPU upgrade and I will send it to you (the CPU was used for 8 moths with a "slight" over clock, never a heat problem, I don't OC my stuff to damage it). I replaced the 3500 for the 185. Thank about it.

EDIT... Just to make sure, find your mother board info so we can check the CPU will not be a problem.

Also I have some work to do outside, so I wont be back in for sometime.

Well from that I can tell you have a MSI MoBo, but I think that is your south bridge chip (I could be wrong on that), if I am right, no fan or heat sink on that?

Do you smoke? if you do, stop doing it near that computer. It looks like tar all over it.

EDIT... Opps, lol that computer isn't working is it, damn I am old. Look on the board for some writing telling us what it is, it should be on the board somewhere (not on chips).

I smoke as well, but never in the house. All I was saying is make sure you move the computer box away from you while you are smoking, tar is a bad thing for computers, sticky.
