Are you reading all of this data from a file and then processing costs based on how much the food was and when you ate or do you need to set up a dialog that goes through the days and asks what time and how much they spent?

I can possibly help you out with this but it is incredibly vague...

The program itself looks pretty easy, but like balth,  I've only focused on VB.Net/ASP.  Now doing my own PHP learning. 

But, if you get the logic down, you are set. 

And bonehead, using pre-made functions is cheating! How will he learn?!

It would be even easier if there was a more detailed description of what he needs to do.  Refer to Havok's post for details of how.
