First of all I just wanna say high five to all of you with so much faith you are willing to stand up for what you believe.

My beliefs are different, and religion has made them that way (I used to be religious, now I'm not). If I had both the time and energy to research my point of view, I would be more than willing to engage in a discussion about this subject, unfortunately school takes too much time.

Beetlejuice, maybe you have been where I am right now (asking the same questions),  but I just wanted to point out I have also been where you are right now. And if you find it funny that we (I'm refering to us non-bible reading people) all THINK we know the truth when in fact none of us really do, how do you think we feel?

No Billy, atleast, you didn't offend me.  I can't speak for others, but now to what you said earlier in your post.  "And if you find it funny that we (I'm refering to us non-bible reading people) all THINK we know the truth when in fact none of us really do."  That statement right there, I think might be the conclusion to this thread.  Yes, I believe in God and trust in the Bible, but there are many things, in my perspective, that only God knows.  There are many mysteries in the universe.  Many that will never be explained, but we do not need to be bumming other people about their religions.  Billy, you said you WERE religious.  If you don't mind me asking, what religion was that?  Christianity maybe?

For the purpose of disproving the existence of any and all gods I shall refer to your particular desert god as 'God.'  

God created the Universe.  God knows all, sees all.  He's omnipotent.  He knows the past, present and future all at once.

God created man, however, God knew everything that would happen to man at any given point in man's entire existence.  Since God created everything, and, already knew ahead of time what would happen, everything is fated.  There is no such thing as free will.  But thats just a little tangent.  Now that the set up is complete..


If God exists, then why do people suffer so much?  Why are children killed, women raped, wars fought?  You say because we can't know God's plan.  Well then, if God knew all this would happen ahead of time, then why do logical people see this all as some huge cosmic joke?

God knew that Eve would eat the apple...he knew it for all eternity.  He knew it before he made her.  God knew every murder, rape, robbery and child molestation that would ever occur.  Because he MADE it that way.  So the question is, why?  

So the option you're left with is either your god is weak and doesn't control as much as you think he does, or he's a rather sadistic god who enjoys creating playthings who have no real say in anything that happens.

There you go, there is no god.

There are a couple of things that you have mistaken there.  

God did not know what would happen in the future.  He has a PLAN for the future, not knowing it.  People suffer because of sin, which entered the world merely over a week of the earth's creation.  That's when Eve comes in, it might not have been an apple, it says fruit(thanks for Missa).  Anyway, I come back to what I just said.  

God didn't know that Eve was gonna eat the fruit, how could someone/something know what is in the future if it hasn't even been written yet?  The book of Revelations talks about what the end of the world is going to be like.  God does know this because, in my beliefs, he is all powerful and he has the power to stop any other force.

Now, for you comment about him either being weak, or having a sick mind.  I explained part of that in my post.  The other part is that he gave us the Bible.  He told his disciples to write it.  To write what he has taught them and glorify his word.  In the Bible, it tells what you must do to get into heaven.  How to over come sin and not have your spirit perish, but to live for all eternity in his kingdom.

For my closing statement, God does not stop sin.  He just makes it so that all Christians can live through it and to reject temptation.  He put us on this earth for us to be his servents, but he is a loving god that lets us live and be free.  He has a plan, but there is not a complete fate for people.  Though, there is one for the world and the entire universe.  People choose if they want to be a Christian or not.  So that means that they can also choose to believe.  Which I know that many of you choose not to, but that's okay.  I do not mean to disrespect anyone else's religion or faith.  I just posted this to answer someone's question.

no did you read the rest of it, he is refering to christians in what he is saying. no where in that did he say just christians belive in God. because if you read further on the paragraph he says "us" which is refering the christians. those of which he and i and beetle are apart of.
