hard drive compatibility
« on: September 05, 2010, 02:59:49 PM »

If I have a computer with a motherboard that has:  IDE Ports, 2 x UltraDMA 100/66/33, can I get the IDE Ultra ATA100 interface from Newegg?  If not, then what, because I don't see UltraDMA as an option...

I'm thinking of putting this hard drive:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136112

into a computer with this motherboard:

Will that work, and if not, what will?

Yes, that is compatible, although I wouldn't recommend Western Digital, naturally it's a matter of preference and experience but I have had more problems out of WD drives than any other, especially IDE's. I generally go with Hitachi or Seagate.
