computer help, of course
« on: September 08, 2010, 10:32:24 PM »

ok, so I've got a media center-ish computer upstairs that my folks use to watch/burn dvd's on, and the power push-button recently went out. I took out the old one, and i'm sure i can put in a new one...but I don't know the name of the cable.

It's a 9-pin female cable with a long orange and blue wire ending in a push-button for the front of a dell computer tower (it isn't a stock dell, I just used the case). It's got a sticker wrapped around it that reads "6Y702 Tested, Foxconn C" and the date "Feb-28-04."

Installing it isn't a problem since it's just a plug and use piece of equipment, but the name/link to a replacement cable would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I figured instead of making a new thread, i'd just post in this one. So the power cable situation is all fixed, now i've got another computer issue.

My wifi isn't working, and I think it all happened when a friend came over, he's got an iphone, and he was showing me how when he sends or receives a text message it causes interference with my speakers on my computer. Then he went on to tell me it also fucks with your router, and it'll make strange feedback noises. After showing me what he meant and causing an annoying feedback noise, I realized my wifi wasn't working on my netbook. Checked with my sister, and hers wasn't working either. Any solutions? Thanks in advance, again.
