Off that list that is way over priced, the so called "evaporator expansion valve", in simple words so it sounds less expensive, "orifice tube".
You paid $50, anyone else would have paid $10.
The fan work... They had no clue what was wrong, so they replaced "Everything", switch, relay and fan until the damn thing started to work... LOL I would bet it was nothing but a fuse. OR it was nothing but a fuse for the complete AC system, so "what the hell, lets just make this worth our while and replace some stuff"... Fucking cheats!
And don't get me going on the r134 for $25 per lb... about $10 per pound for everyone else out there, my God it isn't R12.
So in short, they did stay WAY under your $1,100... With looking over the list kind of fast, I say about $500 in parts, the rest was mark up on the parts and labor... They charged you $1,700, they made $1,200 "clear", wow. One of the main reason I NEVER worked for someone that would have "tried" to make me give the screws to people, I was always a fleet mechanic, never worked for a retail company.
Well think of the good side, you got fucked with no chance of getting some disease.
