I made a program (well, modified a bit the source of another program) for changing the serial of the hard drive. I have attached it to this post. Hopefully changing the serial of a single component will be enough to produce a new hardware ID hash....if not, I'll explain further.

(No, this program isn't a virus. You can rest assured.)

EDIT: I shouldn't have to say this as it is rather obvious, but don't forget to write down your original serial number before you go and change it, just in case you need to change it back.

EDIT2: Just another word in case we're dealing with people who have no idea what they're doing - select your C drive from the drop-down list. On top of that, you probably won't want to change your serial to 0000-0000...change it to 8 random numbers like 72619032 or whatever.

OK, they never banned by IP address.  IP address is the easiest thing to change, so they wouldn't even bother about it.

If your ban is GUID, but you don't want to risk a HW ban once your replace CDkeys and test because you simply don't know, there is a simple test you can do.  Download AA (America's Army).  Free game with PB.  And try to play it.  If PB kicks you, you are not just GUID, but HW banned.

If you are hardware banned, you do NOT need to replace every single piece of hardware.  PB does NOT "choose" what hardware to ban.  It bans:
1.  Serial number (not volume) of your first 10 hard drives it finds.
2.  You MAC address on your NIC card.

As for spoofing your HD serial, there's no public undetected spoofers as of now.  I downloaded the program [DOA] Programmer_One posted.  It's clean.  I scanned it.  But I haven't tested it yet.

Oh, and you do NOT have to create a new account.  PunkBuster does NOT ban accounts because they do NOT have the access.
