when i try to run CSS i get this The instruction at 0x222395d referenced memory at 0x05d61h0 This memory could not be read! fuck me in the ass anyone have an idea of what is wrong here?

Yup either you have another program that has that block of memory locked or you have bad memory or that memory chip is going bad also some memory can go bad to where you can write to it just cant read from it.

wll add this to the list now when i try to load vent i get = Unable to activate direct sound for selected device. DirectSoundCap tureCreate failed, hr = 88780078.. so should i bash my computer with a sludge hammer now?

It seems like it is a problem with your pc and not css. ( A bat might also do the trick)

Reinstall your sound drivers or better yet see if there is a update for them, should fix this problem you have with BF2 as well.
