For some odd reason my steam keeps crashing.  It only crashes when I am being loaded into a server that makes you download shit before entering the game.  This also only occurs for the OLD versions of CS/ DOD/ HL.  It doesn't entirely crash out steam, but the game just dissappears and I'm left staring at the "MY GAMES" window.  Everything works perfectly when I play on servers that DON'T have downloads, and everything works perfectly when I play SOURCE games (even servers that have downloads it works with source).

I updated my directx, nvidia drivers, checked firewalls, I have avg pro virus protection.

my graphics card: BFG 7800 gtx OC

Instructions:
Extract anywhere but the steam folder, and run the exe.

That has happened to me before Phantom, trust me when i tell you this but you gotta reinstall everything again. Sucks but o well.

Yes only the games that arent working. The old ones. Make sure once you uninstall those games you go into your steam folder and make sure that there aren't any HL, DOD, CZ, or Cs folders left.

Yeah so does CSS, for me. whenever i try to go and find a server and i click join game nothing happens except that the Latency (ping) goes to 1000 then 2000, then you have to wait about 2 mins, then click join again.
