that is actually false. the internet was invented earlier by a company... i forget the name of it but what it was was just some guys trying to send one file to another computer over a lan line. then some college successfully connected to that company from miles and miles away for only brief seconds then it crashed. manymore things had happened before Al Gore had even said anything about the internet. He declared at a point in time that file sharing would be a huge deal in the future. thats all he had ever done. This is all true... how do i know, i took a webpage design class early this summer for a few weeks and the teacher told us the history of the internet.

It was more of an institution rather than a company persay. It was called ARPANET (advanced research project agency networks) which worked out of Bell Labs. They developed the TCP/IP protocol and many others we use today.
