Well over powered trucks are for rich people, they can afford the gas. I once had a 4 banger with a 5 speed stick and I must say it was damn good on gas and did what I wanted it to do.
Most cars are targeted for the upper class or college kids with no brains. I mean allot of the cars are just as much if not more than the cost of a house.

For the people who absolutely
need a truck for work, or on a ranch or something you never see them with big ass 40,000 dollar trucks. There's an old rancher by my school who has had the Dana Ranch for a long ass time and all he uses is an 80s Datsun. Says it does just what he needs and is actually pretty fuel efficient.

it's just annoying to me when they try to market "new" ideas like the cutting down of cylinders that cadillac had developed in the 80s(maybe?). It was a pretty good idea, stop using some cylinders when your at cruisin speeds and what not, but still for having been making trucks for 40 plus years it's pathetic that gas efficiency has only gone down. I know there's an increase in power to make up for that, but like i said before...the power they have isn't necessary.
