i didn't have the patchswitcher on my new computer until today when boner just uploaded it to mfs, and frankly i don't remember how it works. I know i double click on the .bat file and select which option i want, but it gives me this message....

I haven't used it in months, and i don't really know what i'm doing wrong. Whatever method i try, i get that same message. Please help with my silly nibbish mistakes.

bone, i already did that. Do i have to re-install the 1.61 patch after i download the patchswitcher? Kind of like when you change your key in bf2, you have to re-apply the patch for it to do its thing?

I did do that, i just wasn't sure if you had to re-install the 1.61(or the 1.6 and the 1.61) patch after putting that folder in the bf42 folder, because i did what you said and it still happens.

Wasserfaller.. . Open that folder you are showing in your last post... Do you have a "New" and "Old" file folders? If you do, dose each folder have 5 other files like below?

1... BF1942
2... BF1942_w32ded
3... contentCrc32
4... init
5... New

You need to have the patchswitcher. bat inside the Battlefield 1942 folder also.  You can make a shortcut to put on your desktop if you want to switch faster, but it should look something like this:


You shouldn't need to reinstall 1.61 because that is already installed and you just needed to put the .bat file in there.  It SHOULD work like this.

ah, thank you sir, that did it. I was just missing the .bat file in the bf42 folder, thanks for all the help gents.
