Oh, I know your a bunch of farmers, infact slaves now. Where does 60% of every dollar you make and spend to the government in tax's go to? Hmmm well to the federal reserve and to a bunch of foreign bankers (including us truly) virtually nothing goes to US citizens in your tax. The fact is, it was more profitable in the end for us to let you have your "independence" and let the federal reserve rape you in taxes. Its all about the money folks, our army on your shores was never supplied with the nesessary re-inforcments and resources to enflict an effective campaign because it was simply financially un-viable.
However the door swings both ways:
Queen Victoria continually donated to the South(Confederate army) with arms and finance during your civil war because the profitability of forced labour was too high to be ignored and beneficial to our government in cheap cotten and other stuff, although officially *cough* we had a no-go policy on slavery (the reason why the queen traditionally gives priority to the Southern states like Kentucky and so on for visits is because they provided us with the cheap material to enable us to have our industrial revolution). With all that said: Enjoy your 4th of July, just watch out for your govenment because they are tolling up debts they may never pay off to the federal reserve and the only option your government will have is to keep raising your taxes to pay it off. Ouch! Wars cost alot, tobacco is up 50p = $1 here since Bush invaded Iraq
