oke my computer is fucked up, not since today but already for along time. and people are telling me that i've to buy a laptop. that sounds not bad to me but i think an normal computer will be better because it got more space and stuff. well i know the advantages of a laptop are better because you can bring it with you to everywhere and if you got a normal one you can't.

well what should you guys do? buy a normal computer or an laptop?

i'm abit in discussion with myself so..

Both, if the price is right.

If the funds aren't there though then go for the laptop if you find yourself on the move alot of the times.

I use four main systems daily. My built rig at home, my workstation at the office, my laptop at work and my PDA. They all serve their own function but the day to day stuff I find myself using the laptop more and more.

One thing to keep in mind... Playing games.

Use this as a rule... If it takes $1,500 for a desk top computer to play COD4 on full settings, it will take $3,000 for a lap top to play COD4 on full settings or maybe even less.

Simple terms... Lap tops are 2x as much for the same performance as a desk top (but in most cases a lap top cost a bit more then the 2x rule).

Now if the game performance thing doesn't bother you... Yes a lap top is the way to go IMO.

Buy the Lap top and then buy a game console for your gaming that a "cheaper" lap top wont handle.

hmm thanks you verry much for that. i just want a good computer that can play good games like battlefield2, warrock and such. because the one i got now: 1: this one is to fucking old. 2: i can't even play any games, only can be on the forums and ventrilo.

but if i buy desktop computer for 800$, or an laptop for 800$, the desktop computer will be better? because if i can get a better computer from the same price, i won't go higher in prices.

Hard one on that... The cheaper desktops aren't up to par with the big boys. In that price range I think the 2 would be so close you wouldn't see the difference, in that price range I would go with the laptop.

The games you posted, your $800 range laptop should be able to handle them.

3... Video, the biggest and best you can afford to add to the laptop.
4... IMO only, if it is possible on your side of the world, get a Dell.

One other thing you have to look at is that you can upgrade a desktop alot easier then you can a laptop.  If you want to buy basic shit now and then save money, you can always upgrade different shit as you go.

Laptops are crap! All you get is one problem after another. Teeny screens, the navigators a super alien would have a problem with. The disc drives feel like they're gonna snap off. If you drop it your fucked, a desktop removes this inevitable mishap.

i built up a rig that cost 900$, including shipping and tax. 800$ is definitely enough, you can get a nice dual core processor, good mobo, a killer graphics card, and just use your old monitor/mouse/keyboard.

800 should definitely be enough to build a computer that just needs to handle BF2 and warrock.

if i was you buy a computer on www.alternate. nl there around 800 euro and have some cool stuff in it...
